SECTOR: Local Community
Organisation
The
Challenge:
To set up a new office to
work away from the local government organisation
and run independently – to enable effective
support of local community housing projects.
The
organisation required a simple server network
to enable the team to file share, access emails
easily both from the office and offsite. provision
of out-sourced expertise to give guidance,
training and support during installation, providing
ongoing proactive support as the organisation
had no on-site IT expertise. The solution had
to be able to integrate specialist software
simply and easily and enable seamless continuity
of the organisation’s core activities.
Project: |
Small Business Server
2003 on one main site |
Set up of satellite
office |
6 PCs and 1 laptop |
Centralized business
infrastructure
(including email, fax,
print, file storage) |
Secure systems,
including backups to enable full data
recovery |
Instant and ongoing
remote support |
The Solution:
IT-in-a-Tin implemented a
standard small business server environment
in the Client’s new offices, which included
Microsoft Exchange for advanced email capabilities,
allowing access from anywhere in the world
- using internet explorer 'their own hotmail.'
Through
the system they could now also print, fax and
work on shared files.
The company also had immediate
access to IT-in-a-Tin's team of expert Microsoft
Professionals - both for on site support and
remotely by VPN access (IT-in-a-Tin's Preventative
Maintenance Plan).
